BRGM and France Inter have designed two seasons of the podcast "Les aventures du Professeur Caillou" produced by Radio France Studios, a series aimed at 7-11 year-olds to discover minerals and geology.
The BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) is France's benchmark public establishment in Earth sciences, dedicated to managing the resources and risks of the soil and subsoil.
The Request
The BRGM wanted to develop a project aimed at raising children’s awareness of science by introducing them to minerals and geology. The goal of this initiative was to educate children and their parents about environmental issues in a fun and educational way, by pooling technical and editorial resources to help them understand today’s ecological challenges.
Our Solution
- Radio France Studios collaborated with the BRGM to design a six-episode series for children ages 7 to 11, focusing on elements and materials such as aluminum, sapphire, and chlorine. Our teams mobilized Radio France’s entire high-end audio production ecosystem to deliver a listening experience that is both educational and immersive: writing and artistic direction, casting, recording, production, sound design, editing, and mixing.
- This podcast is also part of the youth programming offered by Radio France and Mon petit France Inter, the new radio station dedicated to children under 12, available on the website and app. It thus helps make science culture accessible to young audiences and their families.
