The principle of Repassez-moi l'standard, the program I host on France Musique, is based on listening to several versions of the same standard, making the choice of versions crucial so as not to tire the listener. With this Esprit Jazz boxed set, my choice of themes and, above all, their performers, is based on the same concern for excellence of interpretation above all else. It's also an opportunity to revisit some familiar themes in other colors, and to introduce you to some artists who are less well-known to the general public, but who aren't here by chance.
