Journalist, writer and musician, Michka Assayas is France Inter’s ‘Mr Rock’. At the helm of his programme “Very Good Trip” since 2015, he delights his listeners (280,000 every evening) with his voice, sharing rock stories that are as incredible as they are true, alongside his musical discoveries.
In 2027, the radio presenter is set to take to the stage to present a musical, literary and visual performance inspired by his cult programme: “Mon Very Good Trip is a first-person narrative, from start to finish. In it, I recount my youth at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. Personal memories intertwine with the universal history of rock. Thanks to my early discovery of ‘pop music’, I was a spellbound child, drawn into a marvellous world at a young age. And then I was plunged into the doubts and torments of adolescence. It was then that I found a lifeline in rock music. An escape, even, from a kind of unacknowledged depression." "Mon Very Good Trip" is the story of a rescue through music. In it, I explore death, sexuality and the joy of being reborn.”
On stage alone (or almost alone), the narrator Michka Assayas will be accompanied by his son Antoine on the stage and Sébastien Hoog on electric guitar. Directed by Leonardo Marcos, this full of surprises show will blend music with visuals (projections) and movement (dance) to create a fully immersive experience.
