9th World Congress Against the Death Penalty

ECPM (Together Against the Death Penalty) has been campaigning since 2000 for the universal abolition of capital punishment through advocacy, activist awareness campaigns, and by uniting international abolitionist forces.

On June 30 and July 1, 2026, Radio France Studios supported the NGO in producing the 9th World Congress Against the Death Penalty.

Over two days, the Auditorium, Studio 104, and the Bazaine and Manessier foyers hosted debates and conferences, bringing together political leaders, experts, former death row inmates, youth, and civil society representatives.

Following a welcoming speech by Sibyle Veil, CEO of Radio France, Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, introduced the opening ceremony
A performance by the Maîtrise de Radio France (choir) performing Bach's Ich ruf zu dir and Michel Berger's Diego

The Request

ECPM was looking for a venue capable of hosting a large-scale event, as well as numerous guests (political leaders, academics, diplomats, civil society organizations, etc.).

Our Solution

Welcoming over 1,300 stakeholders from around a hundred countries worldwide over 2 days
Support in organizing the event
Full access to all spaces within the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique:
- Organization of debates and conferences in the Auditorium, Studio 104, and the Bazaine and Manessier foyers.
- Hosting of several exhibitions: Cartooning for Peace in the Nef, Hakamata in the Agora, Arts et Condamnés in the Rue Traversante, and Dessine-moi l'abolition in the Hall Seine.
- The Agora hosted the "Abolition Village," the Galerie Seine hosted the immersive exhibition Revivre, while the Foyer Soulages was dedicated to education.
Our teams also designed and produced tailor-made radio workshops themed around abolition, hosted by Mathilde Bourmaud.
